Classification & Compensation Full -Time 

$48,000 – $62,000 Generous benefit package (3 weeks paid PTO, 401K option and match, health, vision, dental insurance)

Reports to Director of Programs
Supervises F-T staff and interns

 

Position Summary

Join a dynamic team building a new way of community health programming and social change to address the impact of systemic racism in people’s ability to live healthy lives.  Support the WellShare mission through completion of a full range of development management tasks in a rapidly evolving environment, working closely with many internal and external partners. Develop leadership skill for increasingly organizational fundraising and strategic donor development.  Effective relationship management is key to success in meeting client and community needs. 

 

Manage the daily operations of grant-funded programs aimed at reducing health disparities in the Somali, Oromo, and Latinx communities through community-based health education in the metro area and greater Mankato. The Program Manager ensures high quality standards and performance in the delivery of CHW services, internal and external communication and collaboration, community outreach, data management, education, and research. The Program Manager ensures that activities are in line with WellShare’s mission, vision, and values. The Program Manager must be a self-motivated, adaptable, relational leader and team player to ensure that the organization achieves strategic goals. Assist with tracking of project goals and objections as well as assist with evaluation.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health or a health-related field 
  • Minimum of two years of related experience with community health
  • Experience designing and implementing community-based programming.
  • Interest in addressing health disparities within immigrant and refugee communities.
  • Experience working with immigrant or refugee populations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Administration

  • Track and manage progress of grant-funded work plan to ensure compliance
  • Maintain accurate and organized program records
  • Create processes and procedures to support Community Health Workers in daily tasks and organizational goals.
  • Adhere to reporting requirements as outlined by donor agencies.
  • Identify optimal funding proposals to guarantee uninterrupted delivery of services
  • Facilitate timely and effective communication with the team to ensure goals 

Programming

  • Managing a team with a diverse array of talents and responsibilities.
  • Design and implement programs that support the organization’s mission, vision, and goals.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Programs, Program Coordinator, and Community Health Workers to support program outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal staff and external partner organizations.
  • Strategically meet program goals through development, process improvement, and effective team management. 
  • Increase funding to support program expansion and efficacy. 

Data & Evaluation

  • Design and implement project outcomes on plan with project staff to track progress on project-outcomes.
  • Design appropriate tools for data collection and ensure data is collected
  • Analyze data and write reports.

Preform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Fluent in English. 
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills to effectively develop relationships, interact, and collaborate professionally and positively, with a diverse group of individuals inside and outside of the organization
  • Effective organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented, able to work independently
  • Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods with efficient computer keyboarding skills
  • Visually review detailed reports and information; hear and speak by telephone and online meeting platforms
  • Current valid driver’s license and reliable, insured vehicle as required by State law
