Position: Medical Director

Reports to: Executive Director 

Location: WellShare Headquarters, Minneapolis, MN – Remote

Classification: Contractor- roughly 5 hours per week 

Compensation range: $75-$100/hr

We are a non-profit organization headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with an over forty-year history of partnering with communities, health care systems, government, and social service providers to promote health equity and wellbeing. Using a community health worker (CHW) model, we work with underserved communities in Minnesota and rural Africa. Our programs serve people across the lifespan – including pregnant people, infants, children, youth, adults, and the elderly.

 

Qualified applicants: Follow the CHW supervising provider requirements set forth by DHS. Applicant can possess one or more of the following credentials: 

  • Advanced practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
  • Dentist
  • Medical Doctor (M.D.)
  • Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.)
  • LICSW 
  • LMFT 
  • Licensed clinical counselor 
  • Psychologist

Qualifications: 

  • 3- 5 years of experience in a clinical/non-profit setting

Position Summary: 

Responsibilities:

1. Serve as the Ordering Provider for WellShare

a) Develop a standing order for WellShare’s CHW services.

b) Annual review of current standing orders

c) Assist WellShare in developing relationships and ordering protocols with primary care providers and associated clinics.

2. Serve as the Billing Provider for WellShare

a) Provide NPI and associated documents and/or signature as needed for WellShare’s use in billing.

b) Provide guidance as needed on administrative activities related to billing and reimbursement activities.

  • Excellent management skills
  • Adept computer skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Impeccable presentation skills as a way of enhancing the success of the non-profit organization
