WellShare International is seeking a new Executive Director. Their current executive director is retiring May 1, 2019.

The Executive Director is responsible for the successful leadership and management of the organization in accordance with the strategic direction approved by the Board of Directors. Responsibilities include: actively pursuing funding opportunities, hiring and providing supervision and support for the senior management team in the headquarter office, serving as WellShare€™s principal representative, fostering relationships and promoting collaboration with the public, donor community, and Board of Directors; and ensuring that WellShare is in compliance with all contracts to donors, the State of Minnesota and the federal government. The Executive Director plays a strategic development and leadership role in proactively identifying organizational needs, capacities, and resources; exploring new opportunities to increase and expand its organizational capacity and maintaining fiduciary responsibility.

WellShare International’s mission is to advance sustainable community health around the world. Founded in 1979, WellShare International has worked in seven countries on four continents. It currently implements public health programs locally in Minnesota with refugee and immigrant populations; and globally in East Africa, with a focus on improving individual and community health through community health worker education, research, training, outreach, and the creation of culturally tailored health education materials.
